America's Biggest Problem

Writer's picture: NonPCNonPC

A few days ago on a political thread, somebody asked me who I am supporting for president, to which I replied, "How would I know when perhaps not all of the candidates have presented themselves nor have we heard much about platforms, save for those worn out promises being dragged out by worn out leftover candidates who've done nothing over the past 3 years with those promises? With my head still filled this those unanswered questions, I turned on Sunday Morning Futures to hear a guest grilled about, "What should the candidates be focusing on in the upcoming Presidential Debate: attacking Trump or attacking each other?" Wait, what? Did I hear that right? Because translated that means, "In the Presidential Debates, do we want to see more mud flung at Trump or the other candidates?" Why the fuck is mudslinging considered the most import topic for presidential candidates instead of their political platforms, mainly, what they propose to do for this country and how do they propose going about meeting these goals? Has everyone gone mad? For years I've spoken incessantly about the 24/7/365 Congressional Dog and Pony Show and how it is damaging this country and preventing progress. If you're sick of hearing it imagine how sick I am of saying it over and over and over and over again while being pointedly ignored. Apparently the only thing that changes about these Americans is their Facebook wall after they've blocked out those speaking uncomfortable truths. Otherwise most blue and red voters continue carping about people they don't like instead of seeking the answers for necessary change and who is TRULY willing to bring change. You see, I've got a theory, and it's this. Most people carping on Facebook about the Donald or Hillary or Global Warming or Foreign Policy don't have a clue about that which they're speaking. All they know is that it is opposite of the color button they like to push. And most only push one color because to vote outside the confines of that color they selected so long ago would mean they'd have to read and learn new stuff, and that's too hard. It's just easier to pronounce yourself Red or Blue and then take that, whatever and whomever it entails, to the voting booth instead of investing time into finding out who really is best qualified to lead us. Not only that, when we see that there is nothing worthwhile running, we must demand better instead of settling for less. The powers would like you to think you have no choice but they are wrong. You do have choices and you don't have to settle. And if you don't want poor candidates shoved down your throats we must demand an immediate end to delegates, because from beginning to end, the system of delegates does not allow the population CHOICE in the matter. But you would already know that if you aren't just a button pusher. So what then is America's biggest problem? Is it that we enjoy mudslinging so much that we will allow it to overtake the debates or is it that deep down inside we just don't care because we think it's not our problem, or is it because we foolishly believe that pushing our favorite colored button once every few years is doing your part? Maybe it's a combination of the entire show. #vote #voters #America #Americans #bluebuttonpusher #redbuttonpusher #debates #presidentialdebates
