How pleasant

For me it is always exciting when my grown children stop by for a visit, as much as a visit from a friend, probably moreso. Therefore you can imagine my elation when my son made plans to stop by for lunch. I always keep the ingredients handy for his favorite home lunch, Buffalo Chicken Cheese Fries, so I immediately fired up the oven and went back to completing my therapy session.

After dropping off his recycles, for perhaps the very last time since he and his bride bought a new home in a location with recycling, he made his way inside to the kitchen for the inevitable hug, kiss, and interrogation.

As we were eating we discussed the purchase of his home and the inevitable sale of mine one day. We discussed my plan to market my home to a professional halfway house or special needs living facility for which it is a perfect fit but would more importantly, maximize my profit, but in order to do so, there are a few things that need to be done. His response was that we should just put it on the market it and sell it high while it's a sellers' market, and a recession is looming around the corner. Well it may be a sellers's market but nobody is going to buy it with the third floor walls still dug out, courtesy of a special needs foster child so there is that. Finally he conceded, Ok mom, I'll let you live here when you're senile but as soon as the market turns around again, I'm going to put this house on the market, sell it, and put you in a nursing home." Isn't he just the most thoughtful child? #children #emptynester #sellinghouse #kids #grownkids #granny
