I feel like my head will explode

"I feel like we're starting a brand new chapter," chirps Christina Anstead, formerly Christina El Moussa in the ad for her tv show. Maybe you feel that way Christina, because you just got divorced, then remarried, started a new show, got pregnant and then started another new show with your husband and ex-husband. It is now safe to assume that not only are you starting a brand new chapter, you quite obviously started half a dozen new chapters in the past 3 years.

People need to stop saying, "I feel like," when what they mean is, I know, I think, I believe, I am, instead of this wishy washy way of presenting themselves. Somehow and quite incredibly society has started pretending they are placing more value on people's feelings than on knowledge and truth which I find appalling. The usage of I feel like implies that you cannot dispute anything the feeler states because you will be hurting their feelings, and that's always a big no-no, unless we're calling Melania a whore or in the throes of trying to ruin the career of someone else they don't like, like Al Franken, Brett Kavanaugh or Kevin Spacey. Otherwise you can't hurt people's feelings, especially when they preface all their statements with, "I feel like." But to me, the minute someone says, "I feel like..." instead of, "I know that," it's an immediate turnoff, because I guess sadly for me, I am more interested in what people know to be true, not what they feel, wish or think might be true. I don't like to be kept guessing what somebody means or is implying with their words. Words have too many meanings to allow vagaries. I like conversations to be straightforward, clear and concise, perhaps because I fear misunderstandings

. At any rate, I am finally starting to get the feeling that people are using the term to be manipulative and it appears to be working on Fakebook, as we observe the ever-increasing overreach and censorship of the Zuck Police, dropping people's posts and banning them for the slightest infractions. Fakebook is hellbent on having people follow their philosophies, their morals, their values, their political views, their social views but they are doing so in part because the manipulators are crying about their feelings. But what about the feelings of the other 50% of the population who don't feel the same way? Are you not crushing their feelings? Why don't their feelings matter?

Small-minded people find comfort in the manipulation of others and don't mind sequestering, even eliminating free speech if only because it gives them the feeling of control over those they resent. Sadly though, being small-minded they cannot see the long game, the one in which by harming others they ultimately end up harming themselves in the process. #ifeellike
