The Headline Says It All

Wow, I feel like a real journalist. I had to update this article before the first post! When I went to grab the link for this article from Saturday, July 20, 2019, no matter how I inputted the information, I could not bring up the article. Fortunately for you all, and speaking of credibility, My credibility, I still love paper and ink, I can provide proof of the article! HAHAHA!

How frightening and embarrassing must it be to open the Wall St Journal to the blaring headline, Facebook’s Credibility Crisis when you work for Facebook and Libra. No, not drama queen; yes it would be frightening because there could be job security on the line, potentially far-reaching job security especially in light of the 5 billion dollar fine that I can assure you isn’t going to come out of Zuck’s pocketbook. And the embarrassment of working for a company with credibility issues must be keen especially with multiple credibility of these epic proportions.

Now not only are the slaves that labor at his feet which is anyone who opens up Facebook, laughing at Zuck’s dictatorial ways, Congress is also having a field day with Zuck and his business model over what’s becoming a regular basis. This time and so very rightfully and gratefully so, they attacked Zuck’s vision for global domination via his own Facebook and Facebook money that all users must utilize on purchases made through Facebook! Not only that, he wants to take it global, far beyond just Facebookland. Now obviously he’s not going to call it Facebook money. That sounds too much like Monopoly money, so he’s invented another business and through the guise of the separate entity Libra, would spring forth what Congress has derisively christened, Zuck Bucks. And yet even with the fancy moniker of their own creation, Zuck Bucks, they unilaterally vetoed the privilege of approving such an egregiously created currency not because it smacks of a Third Reich ideology but because only a short while ago, Zuckenberg and Facebook were found guilty of gross negligence which bordered on criminal for allowing a billion plus users’ data to be stolen and/or compromised. They wondered aloud how he could prevent devastating financial breaches for its users only a few months after the dust from that debacle settled, and why he thinks he’s suddenly capable of managing the personal finances of all his users? Hahahaha! Actually Hahahaha was the general consensus of congress too.

Also apparently humility and the ability to immediately take charge of critical situations were brought into the forefront when they pointed out to Zuck that while Starbucks immediately responded to a crisis within its ranks and immediately flew to the location to address the problem, Zuck and Facebook hid behind the curtains for 5 days before the Cambridge Analytical Fiasco. And as one Congressperson pointed out, “The very foundation of currency is trust, and Facebook has none.” Wow. That’s a huge credibility hurtle to overcome.

In the meantime, trying to clean up his tarnished reputation, Zuck moved full speed ahead in doubling down on and refortifying his mission to control all speech in the FB platform. One only has to surf from wall to wall of friends to see a serious of white squares with words proudly proclaiming that this post was pulled from the wall because it might hurt someone’s feelings. Fresh back from another 30-day stint in Facebook jail for my third attempt at requesting from someone who was arguing with me to present proof or documentation of her statement, I can tell you that I was first amazed, then alarmed at the walls of both my bawdiest and my meekest friends for the sheer amount of posts that were pulled. I asked a few friends what was pulled and most couldn’t even tell me. They didn’t know yet their walls were censored.

Now while it does appear to be a bit dramatic to compare this censorship to one of the worst situations in history and the worst in recent history that we know of, is it really? And if it is even a little bit, do you also want that same person controlling your personal finances, even a little bit?

For now fortunately we don’t have to worry about that because there was a resounding, HAHAHAHA, followed by, NO, but eventually enough people will be bought off to make this a real possibility unless we all get into the skirmish as well because if you don’t believe me, go back to your history books so you can be reminded of what happens when the population remains silent to injustice. #FB #FacebookCredibilityCrisis #CredibilityCrisis Update: I contacted John D Stoll, Author of this piece and requested a link to this specific article and he instead sent this link to an entirely different article. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-new-humble-facebook-is-playing-with-fire-in-washington-11563549658?emailToken=f12496f580510a5e2048c32549137af7sDDjKEEmESj4hoFaC7UuD49j6wPqIPYnEiDI3P4zHeylGVMJQbfLPcDCa7AnoWV10wiA0nUKs2gxumhHAhKvdORX9SC7Q7e6lzLixRqlWUerQ3Jy83VahWnMMrp7q1+J&reflink=article_copyURL_share .
