Many moons ago in the flush of our youth, Marianne and I met when we hooked up with a pair of best friends. She is a bit older than I am and I am younger than all of them so she was already well established in her career and I was still a nitwit trying to figure out what I was doing with my life and we had less than nothing in common. But through the years with marriages and children, celebrations and sadness, and my finally growing up, somewhat, we developed a foundation of friendship. One of the things we both enjoy is lunching with friends so we've been trying to do that on a monthly basis for the past few decades. We use it as a way to catch up with each other, without the annoyance of the menfolk and it always turns into a riotous afternoon filled with laughter and the occasional askance issued by annoyed servers. Anyway on this particular day amidst the laughter, Marianne inquired as to Mr Kulp's recent cataract surgery, wondering if the surgery improved his vision. I told her he had done remarkably well. Mr Kulp informed me that what was once cloudy and yellow is now clear and is now set to go for the other eye. However I am worried that once he is finished with the surgeries it will ruin our marriage. With a puzzled look she asked how that could be so. Well, I told her, ever since I lost weight he's been calling me his Trophy Wife. In fact it's his new nickname for me, but I'm afraid he's going to be in for quite a shock when his vision is finally recovered, because then it will be crystal clear that he ain't married to a Trophy Wife! #trophywife #cataracts #weightloss #eyesight #husbands #wives #wife
