It's Apple Dumpling Time

Today's Food Porn is all about seasonal favorites, and what better way to kick off fall than with homemade Apple Dumplings nestled in a bed of its own delicious gooey sauce. In my part of the country if you don't make Apple Dumplings at least once a year you are in danger of losing your Pennsylvania Dutch Mastercooks card so I decided today was the day. All afternoon I was practically sick with anticipation of eating a delicious dumpling until Mr Kulp came home with the ingredients for another surprise Clambake! Now I'm too full to indulge so all I can do is stare at these beauties, do double time on the TV seat tonight and hope I can keep my hands off them until tomorrow evening. In the meantime, I will keep in mind how important it will be to have a light dinner as Dumplings are really filling all by themselves. In fact many people will serve them with Vanilla ice cream in lieu of a meal which is probably an even better idea. However you choose to indulge, if you don't backe, grab em when you see em because they'll be gone before you know it and you'll have to wait another year to enjoy.
